Cardiovascular Disease Worldwide

According to the World Health Organization, Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the number one cause of death worldwide. More people die annually from CVD’s than from any cause contributing to about 31% of all global deaths.

Sadly, over three quarters of all CVD deaths occur in low-and-middle-income countries. By addressing behavioral risk factors such as unhealthy dieting and obesity, physical inactivity, harmful use of alcohol and tobacco use, can help prevent most CVD’s. It is everyone’s responsibility to consciously take actions that will promote their heart health thereby preventing the risk of complicated heart disease.
